Bahut Bakwaas. Horrible. Awful. Bad. Not worth watching. These were the words that I heard coming out of the theatre after watching Pyaar Impossible. The theatre was full and my ears were fully perked. Nope, not one positive comment that I heard about the movie on my way down the 2 flight of stairs of the theatre. As for the negative reactions : “What a Bore, Ghatiya … and the list would go on and on.”

My opinion of the movie was not far off from what the public was saying – I would also say the movie was dreadful. Mind you – my tolerance for Romantic Comedies is quite high as I quite enjoyed and would have given two thumbs up to both What’s Your Rashee and Dil Bole Hadipaa. Both these movies would have been considered flops by box-office standards.

So today when I opened the Review of Week from a leading English daily and see that the movie has been given 3 Stars – I am sorry to say that I had to write this post to save you the horror, your money and more importantly your time. I was so livid after seeing the review – that I picked up my DELL (you will know why I mention my brand of laptop later in the post) and had to write my review of the movie.

The plot of Pyaar Impossible is pretty straight forward – geek (Uday Chopra) falls in love with beauty – Alisha (Priyanka Chopra) and of-course that is Pyaar Impossible. Since when have you seen a hottie going for a geek? … Unless of course the geek is rich .. then the equation changes – but we will leave that for another post.

If we try to analyze where the movie went wrong – there are so many fronts. Let’s first begin with the fact that there was no chemistry between the lead couple Priyanka Chopra and Uday Chopra. The child who was supposed to be six – was clearly 10. And did not in any way reflect the sensibilities of a child that was six. I hate to say this – but this is one of the first movies where I did not find the child cute. The plot was mediocre, the acting poor and the climax – anti climactic.

The two positives in the movie is that Priyanka Chopra definitely looked a hottie and the movie was only about 2 hours. Priyanka was looking fantastic with her new bob perfectly suiting her. Her size zero frame is definitely an envy. Very very chic!

Sorry, I forget that there was one more thing that was done very very well – the placement of brands. I do not know if Apple and Nestle are paid advertisers for the movie – but they both brands are clearly memorable. The advertising was well done with the camera lingering on the NESTLE carton so that you have a clear view of the brand of milk that both the papa and son have for breakfast.

An odd placement for Apple in this movie – since it typically chooses the “cool” type to portray its user – not a Geek – but oh well I guess that they realize that the market for geeks is also quite large.  Priyanka – the hottie, the babe, the cool person – BTW was not seen using a MAC!  Now, Apple – just my two sense – but isn’t that odd!  But I only guess that Apple may be a sponsor with so many MACs, iphones, MACBOOKs shown in the move.

All in all, save your money! This movie is not even worth a watch on cable.
